"Particularly bizarre, disturbing and sometimes delightful" (Time Out)
Synopsis Established in 1991, Headpress (www.headpress.com) are a publisher of international repute, responsible for the trend setting Headpress Journal (the journal of sex religion death) and books devoted to all that is strange and esoteric (or bland and immaterial) in film, literature and pop art. Now, in conjunction with cult independent producers ShashMedia (www.shashmedia.com), Headpress will take to the airwaves with six half-hour shows exploring the themes, obsessions and personalities that constitute the fun and sometimes frightening world of the underground.
Presented by a variety of B-Movie stars, including Ruby LaRocca (www.fleshforthebeast.com), Jane Scarlet (Flesh For The Beast), Dead Elvis (James Whale Show - UK) and many more... Headpress TV will take you to depths you have never been before. However, everything will be presented in the unique Headpress and ShashMedia styles. Well-written features. Fast Paced filming and editing. And a kick ass soundtrack to boot. Interviews completed in America:
Roger Watkins (NYACK, NY) Famed for making the grossest and out right coolest art-house horror film of all time Last House On Dead End Street. Ruby will be joining Roger for a few shots of whiskey, a game of pool and to get the low down on this elusive directors infamous career to date. This is Rogers first ever detailed TV interview about the film.
Linda Lamb (WOODSTOCK, NY) The super sexy and somewhat surrealist lead singer and of cult technorock fusion band The Silures, who's recent hits have included the epic electro-techno Hot Room (which is massive in fetish clubs throughout the world) invites us to her house in the Catskills New York and tells us what it is like working in the lo-fi world of retro electronic music production and with French retro techno pioneer Vitalic.
Tom Brinkman (LONG ISLAND) The authority on Bad Mags and Badder Acid trip media from the 60's and 70's invites us to browse through some of the craziest tabloids from yesteryear. Satanism, Manson, Tate, National Enquirer... Get ready for the baby with four legs, three arms, two heads and one eye!
Nick Zedd (BROOKLYN, NY) The King of underground New York punk rock media, Nick Zedd takes HPTV on a stroll through Brooklyn and talks about his life as the founder of the Cinema of Transgression! In his films, such as War is Menstrual Envy, Police State and many others he has worked with Lydia Lunch, Annie Sprinkle, Richard Kern etc.
St. Reverend Jen (Lower East Side, NY) She's a poet, preacher, painter, performer, prophet, literary giant, upcoming celebrity/personality, lady wrestler, troll museum curator, ear wax-removal specialist, Patron Saint of the Uncool and Voice of the Downtrodden and Tired... Wow!!! Meet Rev Jen!!!.
All this and much much more... coming soon to a TV screen near you. |
