North Korea not the only offender: 6 official photo fudgings
As state manipulators of the media go, few can
compare to North Korea, which this week is mourning the death of Kim
Jong-il. But even with all the careful orchestration of the ceremonies,
the North Korean media still found it necessary to doctor an official
photograph of the funeral procession.
Just as governments are finding it easier to use technology to
manipulate images, so too is the public finding it easier to spot such
digital trickery. Here are six noteworthy attempts by governments to
shape media coverage through image manipulation.

2012: The year that could bring a U.S. strike of Iran
It is obvious that recent Obama administration
rhetoric is not intended only to win re-election. It is also intended to
signal to Iran that the United States stands by its word. The
poster below shows some of the typical gung-ho sentiments which are now
current. Yossi Melman, writing in Haaretz, comments:
"The
questions surrounding Iran and the decision of whether or not to attack
its nuclear facilities reminds me of Israel and Egypt from1970 until the
Yom Kippur War in October 1973. After Anwar Sadat gained power in the
wake of Gamel Abdul Nasser’s death, he would, from time to time, declare
that if Israel would not return the territories it conquered in 1967,
Egypt would return them by force. At the time, Israelis laughed at
Sadat’s statements. Even flyers advertising Israeli New Years Eve
parties called on people to “celebrate the year of reckoning,” directly
referencing Sadat’s oft-used expression. 1971 passed without any
reckoning, as did 1972. With the passing years, Israel’s self-confidence
skyrocketed, along with its complacence and euphoria. And then it
happened. 1973 was the “year of reckoning.” Anwar Sadat stood by his
promise, and retrieved what we took from him by force –Sinai.

Bradley Manning: Right or Wrong?
I
n
2005, General Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said:
"It is absolutely the responsibility of every U.S. service member [in
Iraq], if they see inhumane treatment being conducted, to try to stop
it."
Chase Mader writes in HuffPo that soon after deployment to Iraq,
Manning:
"soon found himself helping the Iraqi authorities detain civilians for
distributing "anti-Iraqi literature" -- which turned out to be an
investigative report into financial corruption in their own government
entitled "Where does the money go?" The penalty for this "crime" in Iraq
was not a slap on the wrist. Imprisonment and torture, as well as
systematic abuse of prisoners, are widespread in the new Iraq. From the
military’s own Sigacts (Significant Actions) reports, we have a
multitude of credible accounts of Iraqi police and soldiers shooting
prisoners, beating them to death, pulling out fingernails or teeth,
cutting off fingers, burning with acid, torturing with electric shocks
or the use of suffocation, and various kinds of sexual abuse including
sodomization with gun barrels and forcing prisoners to perform sexual
acts on guards and each other...
Like any good soldier, Manning immediately took these concerns up the
chain of command. And how did his superiors respond? His commanding
officer told him to "shut up" and get back to rounding up more prisoners
for the Iraqi Federal Police to treat however they cared to..."
Manning also found a video and an official report on American air
strikes on the village of Granai in Afghanistan’s Farah Province (also
known as "the Granai massacre"). According to the Afghan government, 140
civilians, including women and a large number of children, died in those
strikes.

Mainstream Medical Pharmaceutical ‘Science’ Goes Against Nature
"Is it possible to thrive without antipsychotics,
high-powered painkillers, and statin drugs? More importantly, are
natural alternatives really as ‘danger
ous’
as mainstream health officials claim? Sure, there have been some great
advancements in the field of medical science in this field, but profit
mongering and a blatant disregard for public health has driven big
pharma giants to throw science to the wind and unleash a variety of
harmful yet profitable pharmaceuticals.
It is thanks to this motive that pharmaceuticals have now led to more
deaths than traffic fatalities in the United States. Killing at least
37,485 people nationwide in 2009, the mainstream medical structure
continues to not only ignore natural alternatives but actually goes as
far as to label them ‘dangerous’ and completely deny their
effectiveness. Vitamin D, which can be obtained by simply stepping
outside, has been found to slash your risk of cancer, obesity, and the
flu. Of course unless
you
are supplementing thousands of times over the safe limit of vitamin D,
there are virtually zero side effects to accompany these benefits.
Meanwhile, statin drugs have been linked in peer-reviewed research to
more than 304 diseases conservatively.
This information directly challenges and disproves the claims of many
supposed health ‘experts’ that pharmaceuticals and invasive mainstream
medical interventions are the only answer to treating (certainly not
curing) disease. If we were to see a medical paradigm shift into
natural, or at least integrated medicine, we would see a dramatic slash
in cancer rates simply from educating the world about the benefits of
free vitamin D. Some estimates place 70% of U.S. children in the vitamin
D deficiency category, as well as a large number of adults. Imagine if
health officials were to adopt more integrated health principals, such
as the consumption and supplementation of a spice known as turmeric.

Nigerian Islamist Terrorists Wage War Against Christians
The prayers of faithful Christians in Nigeria were
interrupted by bombs detonated by Islamic militants during worship
services on Christmas Day — attacks that are becoming perennial in a
nation that rests on one of the theological fault lines between
Christianity and Islam.
Last year, bombings in the Nigerian city of Jos killed dozens of people
and wounded nearly a hundred more; this year the attacks by the Muslim
group Boko Haram killed approximately 40 people. Bombs were detonated in
the cities of Madalla, near the capital city of Abuja, Jos in central
Nigeria, and in Damaturu and Gadaka in northern Yobe state, where
fighting between the government and Boko Haram has been particularly
fierce.

Star Makers
"A hyper-advanced civilisation may command
such unimaginable power that it can fashion worlds and consume whole
suns. But it would still be bound by the laws of physics."
Is that so? CB

ASK THE AVERAGE SCIENTIST about the possibility of an
encounter with an extra-terrestrial lifeform, and it's likely you'll
find you've prompted 'the giggle factor'. After rolling their eyes, they
remind you that the distances between stars are so vast, it's virtually
impossible for any aliens to visit us. But a potential flaw is assuming
an extraterrestrial civilisation would be only a few hundred years ahead
of us in technology. How about civilisations that may be a million years
ahead of ours?
The late scientist and author Carl Sagan once asked: "What does it mean
for a civilisation to be a million years old? We have had radio
telescopes and spaceships for a few decades; our technical civilisation
is a few hundred years old ... an advanced civilisation millions of
years old is as much beyond us as we are beyond a bushbaby or a
macaque."
This question is no longer just a matter of idle speculation. Soon,
humanity may face an existential shock as we discover Earth-sized twins
of our planet orbiting nearby solar systems. This may usher in a new era
in our relationship with the universe, so that we will never see the
night sky in the same way. Realising that scientists may eventually
compile an encyclopaedia identifying the precise coordinates of perhaps
hundreds of Earth-like planets, gazing at the night sky, we will forever
after wonder if someone is gazing back at us.

This includes a major sale of cutting-edge F-15SA fighter jets to Saudi

United Arab Emirates, warnings from the Russian envoy to the United
Nations of global destabilization in 2012 and new awards for Raytheon
for the AESA radar system and contracts for US/NATO missile systems.
After Iran threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz if the West
continued to push for sanctions on Iranian oil exports, the United
States’ Fifth Fleet out of Bahrain countered with similar

Look at the language here, look at the moves

"The
emergence of life is probable on any wet, rocky planet. Serpentinization
gives rise to alkaline hydrothermal vents that form: (i) simple
organics; (ii) catalysts that direct primordial metabolism (iii)
micropores with cell-like properties; and (iv) proton gradients
equivalent to the proton-motive force. Thermodynamic constraints dictate
that all anaerobic chemolithotrophic cells must depend on chemiosmotic
coupling, explaining the near-universal use of proton gradients today.
But proton gradients also limit the evolutionary potential of
prokaryotes. Only a rare and stochastic event, an endosymbiosis between
prokaryotes, permitted the evolution of morphologically complex life on
Earth, as only such an endosymbiosis made it possible for chemiosmotic
coupling to be controlled by multiple small genome outposts across a
wide area of internal membranes. This leap in bioenergetic capacity in
turn enabled the expansion in cell volume and genome size characteristic
of eukaryotes. The origin of life and evolution of prokaryotes is
therefore deterministic and probable (necessity), while the evolution of
more complex eukaryotic life is stochastic and improbable (chance).
These bioenergetic principles are likely to apply throughout the
universe."

Strange Lights over a Nuclear Missile Base
On the early morning of October 24, 1968, following
several weeks of watching strange lights maneu
ver
across the night skies above a nuclear missile base in Minot, N.D.,
Smith got an expanded world view. A mobile “camper team” unit reported
UFO activity near a launch control facility designated Oscar-6. Smith
took a look for himself, saw the reported “large glowing object,” and
phoned it in to security control with the 91st Strategic Missile Wing.
For the next hour or two, Smith and colleagues would watch the light —
or lights — as it changed color, changed direction, and dipped behind a
treeline. Exasperated over his superiors’ ostensible indifference to
this blatant incursion into restricted air space, he tuned in with at
least a small measure of relief to radio chatter from a B-52 crew, which
confirmed the bogey from above as it made a joke of military security.
No culprits were ever held to account, in a complicated case that would
also involve trace effects of radiation, an unlocked inner perimeter
gate, and a wide open — but unmanned — personnel hatch at an Oscar
launch control center. Although Smith filed an AF-117 report, he was
ordered never to discuss the incident outside the chain of command.

artificial lifeforms go when they die? And if they have souls, are those
souls going to be included in the circle of life and rebirth? And, even
more mindboggling is this intense question:
Is it possible that one day you and I could possibly be reborn into the

The F-35 is already the most costly U.S. weapons program underway at

the future multimillion-dollar fixes likely to be required for them —
and the 15 F-35s completed but not yet delivered to the military

In late
December 2008, coinciding with the onslaught of Israel's "Operation Cast
Lead" directed against Gaza, the Pentagon dispatched some 100 military
personnel to Israel from US European Command (EUCOM) to assist
Israel
in setting up a new sophisticated X-band early warning radar system as
part of a new and integrated air defense system. (See defense.gov/news/,
December 30, 2011). The project had been approved by Secretary of
Defense Robert Gates in September 2008.
With media attention focussing on Gaza, this crucial military initiative
in the area of US-Israel Air Defense passed virtually unnoticed. The
official story was that Tel Aviv had requested this aid "to help defend
against a potential missile attack from Iran".
What was at stake, however, was a new threshold, a fundamental turning
point in the structure of Israel's Air Defense system and its
relationship to the US global missile detection system.
Casually heralded as "military aid", the project consisted in
strengthening the integration of Israel's air defense system into that
of the US, with the Pentagon rather than Israel calling the shots:
"Once fully operational, the system will be capable of tracking and
identifying small objects at long distance and at very high altitude,
including space, according to U.S. Missile Defense Agency officials. It
also will integrate Israel’s missile defenses with the U.S. global
missile detection network.

2011 YEAR of the DUPE: One Year into
the Engineered "Arab Spring," One Step Closer to Global Hegemony

"December 24, 2011 - In January of 2011, we were told
that "spontaneous," "indigenous" uprising had begun sweeping North
Africa and the Middle East in what was hailed as the "Arab Spring." It
would be almost four months before the corporate-media would admit that
the US had been behind the uprisings and that they were anything but
"spontaneous," or "indigenous." In an April 2011 article published by
the New York Times titled, "U.S. Groups Helped Nurture Arab Uprisings,"
it was stated:
"A number of the groups and individuals directly involved in the revolts
and reforms sweeping the region, including the April 6 Youth Movement in
Egypt, the Bahrain Center for Human Rights and grass-roots activists
like Entsar Qadhi, a youth leader in Yemen, received training and
financing from groups like the International Republican Institute, the
National Democratic Institute and Freedom House, a non-profit human
rights organization based in Washington."

Hidden Dragon: The Chinese cyber

Cybercrooks
and patriotic state-backed hackers in China are collaborating to create
an even more potent security threat, according to researchers.
Profit-motivated crooks are trading compromised access to foreign
governments' computers, which they are unable to monitise, for exploits
with state-sponsored hackers. This trade is facilitated by information
broker middlemen, according to Moustafa Mahmoud, president of The Middle
East Tiger Team. Mahmoud has made an extensive study of the Chinese
digital underground that partially draws on material not available to
the general public, such as books published by the US Army's Foreign
Military Studies Office, to compile a history of hacking in China. His
work goes a long way to explain the threat of cyber-espionage from China
that has bubbled up towards the top of the political agenda over recent
months. The first Chinese hacking group was founded in 1997 but
disbanded in 2000 after a financial row between some of its principal
players led to a lawsuit. At its peak the organisation had about 3,000
members, according to Mahmoud. The motives of this so-called Red Hacker
group were patriotic, defending motherland China against its enemies.

Enron,

In 1985 Drexel Lambert S&L crook Michael Milken
helped Houston Natural Gas merged with Internorth to create Enron.
Kenneth Lay headed Houston Natural Gas and became chairman and CEO of
the new company. Enron was the biggest corporate contributor to George
W. Bush’s campaign to become Texas Governor. [1]
Bush won and Texas led the way in a nationwide deregulation of energy
markets which Lay advocated.
Deregulation
allowed Lay to pioneer energy trading. By 1999 Enron monopolized online
energy trading via Enron Online. Throughout the political career of
George W. Bush, Lay was his largest financial supporter, personally
giving Bush $650,000.
In 1993 Wendy Gramm, wife of Senate Banking Committee Chairman Phil
Gramm (R-TX), joined the board of Enron where she was chair of Enron’s
Audit Committee. Wendy Gramm
came
to Enron straight from her job as 12-year chair of the Commodity Futures
Trading Commission (CFTC), where she ostensibly aided in the cover-up of
BCCI, Capcom, Mena drug trade and S&L scandals. At CFTC Gramm’s main
task was to oversee the complex derivatives market, a favorite haven for
drug money laundering due to its opaque nature.
While Wendy was covering tracks at CFTC, husband Phil was busy blocking
key money laundering legislation and pushing for bank deregulation. He
pushed passage of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000, which
severely reduced government oversight of the derivative and futures
markets.
Enron, where Wendy Gramm now collected a $200,000 per year stipend,
received exclusive regulatory exemptions through the legislation.
Section 101 of the Act granted regulatory exemption to on-line energy
traders. There was only one such entity – Enron OnLine. One CFTC
official stated of Section 101, “everyone called it the Enron
exemption”. [2]

Iran starts building a nuclear
weapon: US and Israel tighten cooperation
Iran
has embarked on "activities related to possible weaponization," said
American sources Thursday, Dec. 22, thereby accounting for the dramatic
reversal of the Obama administration's wait-and-see attitude on
attacking Iran. The change was articulated this week by US Defense
Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint US Chiefs of Staff Gen.
Martin Dempsey.
debkafile's Washington sources report that the Islamic Republic crossed
the red line President Barack Obama had set for the United States, i.e.,
when Tehran begins using the technologies and fissile materials
(enriched uranium) it has amassed for assembling a bomb or missile
warheads. This marks the moment that Iran goes nuclear and only a short
time remains before it has an operational nuclear weapon.
Washington has always claimed that when the order to build a weapon was
given in Tehran, the United States would know about it within a short
time.
The US stealth drone RQ-170 was sent into Iranian airspace for the first
time to find evidence to support this suspicion. On Dec. 4 the Iranians
downed the unmanned reconnaissance craft by intelligence or cyber means
not yet fully clarified. The US - and most probably Israel too - then
turned to other intelligence resources to find out what Iran was up to.
According to debkafile's military and intelligence sources, they found
evidence that Iran has in fact begun putting together components of a
nuclear bomb or warhead.

Mathematicians Discover Secret
Formula For Writing A Hit Song

Though
math is usually used to tell you if a song was a hit based on sales,
scientists from the University of Bristol believe they have "The Hit
Equation." A group focused on artificial intelligence developed machine
learning algorithms that mined the characteristics of top hits to
develop a formula for key musical features that determine whether a song
will be a hit.
The lads at the Intelligent Systems Lab, armed with the power of math,
identified 23 features that were considered important from tempo and
loudness to harmonic simplicity vs. non-harmonicity.
Features Included in the Hit Equation
The results are 60% accurate in predicting a top five hit or below 30
non-hit. They noted that their Hit Equation must be adjusted somewhat as
tastes shift but it's apparently a fairly gradual process. This
particular group of scientists aren't discussing commercial applications
however their public site, Score a Hit!, suggests entertainment may be a
key outcome.
Mark Brown discusses Score a Hit! and related services and points to Hit
Song Science and their site uPlaya. They offer not only hit analysis but
related marketing services designed to leverage that analysis. I don't
know how Hit Song Science does its magic, but they claim to analyze
"fundamental characteristics of all music" including brightness, tempo
and changes over time, to identify hit potential in relationship to
changing trends. They also identify markets where each song would be
most likely to succeed.
Though I can't recommend the service, the idea of analyzing songs to
identify markets and then providing marketing services is an interesting
application.

The Sykesville
Monster, Carroll County, Maryland
Sykesville,
Maryland - The fear and uncertainty that has gripped residents here the
past two weeks has been intensified by two new reports of monster
sightings received by police Friday.
The "Sykesville Monster" was seen Friday evening by an out-of-state
truck driver who described him vividly.
Of high significance is the fact the 1,400-population town, 20 miles
North of Baltimore, Maryland in Carroll County, has jumped into
nationwide headlines in the National AFRO and other news media.
Following the Baltimore zoo assistant director Dr. Ted Roth called to
say that he went to Sykesville and determined the footprint is by a
large human foot "with fallen arches." He said he would report after he
takes another trip to Sykesville to determine "what the balance of the
body may be."
TRUCK DRIVER'S REPORT
According to the truck driver, (who requested anonymity), the "it" stood
approximately seven to eight feet tall and appeared to be dark brown in
color." It could have been a man on stilts." he said.
The driver stated that whatever it was seemed to be "caked with mud from
the waist down." Although he was unable to pinpoint the exact location
of the sighting, the driver said it appeared to be sitting down.
According to the driver, the "thing", which was evidently minding its
own business, stood, turned around and sensing danger, dashed into the
woods.
As the result of the AFRO story Friday, an investigating organization,
Odyssey Scientific Research, Baltimore, is on the scene. John Lutz,
director of Odyssey, talked to the truck driver, and said there is an
additional witness in Anne Arundel who reportedly saw the monster.

Deadly strain of Super bird flu
created in a lab
A
super-strain of bird flu that could infect and wipe out millions has
been developed in a laboratory. Dutch scientists who created the
‘Armageddon virus’ say it is ‘probably one of the most dangerous viruses
you can make’. Their research focused on what it took to convert bird
flu – which can kill more than half of those infected but does not
spread easily – into a highly contagious virus. They said this knowledge
would be vital for the development of vaccines and drugs to prevent a
possible pandemic. But others argue the virus should never have been
created – and warn the potential if it escaped from the lab is
‘staggering’. There are also fears the recipe will be seized on by
terrorists looking for a biological weapon.

Postmodern: Lost
Time and Decay
The Phantom Time Hypothesis

A few fringe professors have caused rumblings with their controversial
claim that three hundred years of human history have been entirely made
up. But why do they believe in phantom time, and how do they think it
happened?
Decay
"The
decay of the built environment has become a subject more of aesthetic
fascination than of fear for many twenty-first-century Americans. Real
communities such as Detroit, pictured in Time’s 2010 photographs and
Julian Temple’s documentary “Requiem for Detroit?” (2010), and Gary,
Indiana, seen in David Tribby’s Gary Indiana: A City’s Ruins (2009),
have become fodder for photographers, bloggers, and artists. Meanwhile,
fictional decayed landscapes are used as a spectacular backdrop to
countless recent apocalyptic movies, from “I Am Legend” (2007) to “The
Road” (2009), even undergoing
transformation
into animated form in the children’s film “Wall-E” (2008). But people
who live, or once lived, in the real landscapes of decay often resent
the intrusion of visitors following a podcast tour through Baltimore
neighbourhoods used as locations for “The Wire,” or the presence of the
urban explorer, wishing that such touristic interest might be followed
by political action aimed at transformation of the material environment
where their communities are based. How can scholars interested in visual
and material culture address the aesthetics and ethics of this
fascination with deterioration? Possible topics to be addressed in this
panel include the ethics of the representation and simulation of decayed
environments; the role of the urban explorer as proto-archaeologist;
historical perspectives on the visual and material cultural presence of
the decayed landscape; decayed landscapes and their function in filmic
narrative; and decay and its relationship to discourses of consumer
culture."

to facial expressions, excitement and concentration levels, and the
thoughts of a person without them physically taking any actions,” wrote
Brown.
In 2009 one of Brown’s close colleagues suffered a stroke leaving him
completely paralyzed. Brown introduced him to the EPOC from Emotiv.
Using head sensors, the device can read electrical brain impulses, and
can be trained to take action based on particular thoughts.
For example, within 8 seconds of testing the device, Brown’s colleague
could move a digital cube on a computer screen with his thoughts alone.
“The concentration needed whilst operating the headset is quite a lot,
however, so more development of the technology and more training in
using the headset may be needed to make it entirely effective,” wrote
Brown.
According to Brown, scientists at UC Berkeley have designed and
developed a special MRI scan that can model visual thoughts while
subjects are awake or even dreaming.
“By 2017, like all technology, the EPOC or other similar technologies
will probably get smaller,” Brown wrote. “So I can imagine it will have
completely dry sensors, and I'd be wearing it all the time, perhaps
embedded into a baseball cap, and with a finer range of thought patterns
detected and connected directly to my mobile phone - allowing me to
interact with the world just by thinking particular thoughts.”
Other innovations included on this year’s list are facial recognition
devices that eliminate the need for passwords, technology to capture
human kinetic energy to power a home, more affordable mobile devices,
and the end of junk mail.

The Syrian army is continuing to hunt down deserters
near the northern city of Idlib after troops on Tuesday killed close to
150 men who had fled their base. The toll marked the deadliest day of
the nine-month uprising and has rekindled fears of an imminent civil

The high numbers of dead and ongoing battles in the north came as an
advance party of Arab League observers arrived in Damascus in a bid to
implement an agreement signed by Syrian officials to stand down troops

The Dear Leader's Bizarre Obsession

"Despite Kim’s creative influence on the industry during the 1970s (when
he served with the country’s Art and Culture Ministries) and the fact
that he literally wrote the book on communist film production (1973’s On
the Art of the Cinema - Kim Jong Il), North Korean movies were still
terrible. Frustrated, Kim sought help by forcing 11 Japanese “cultural
consultants” into servitude during the late 1970s and early 1980s, only
to have several die inconveniently on the job (some by their own hands).
But coerced consulting can only get a film industry so far, and North
Korea was still in search of its 'Orson Welles'. Then, in 1978,
respected South Korean director Shin Sang Ok suddenly found himself out
of work after he angered his own country’s military dictator in a spat
over censorship, and Kim Jong Il saw his chance to harness Shin’s
artistry.
Kim promptly lured Shin’s ex-wife and close friend, actress Choi Eun
Hee, to Hong Kong to “discuss a potential role.” Instead, she was
kidnapped.
A distraught Shin searched for Choi, but found himself similarly
ambushed by Kim’s minions. After some “convincing” (by way of chloroform
and a rag) he was whisked away to North Korea. Choi lived in one of
Kim’s palaces, and Shin, having been captured after an attempted escape
only months after arriving, lived for four years in a prison for
political dissidents, where he subsisted on grass, rice, and communist
propaganda."

Fatal problems plague the F-22
fighter jet
Capt. Jeff Haney was headed back to base in his F-22
Raptor fighter jet, ripping through the frigid Alaskan night beyond the
speed of sound at more than 1,000 mph, when things started going
terribly wrong.
Packed
tight in cold-weather gear to protect him from the bitter temperatures,
the Air Force pilot pulled back on the control stick at about 38,400
feet to gain altitude. Then Haney saw his plane was beginning to fail
him.
A caution light glowed green through his night vision goggles, alerting
him that a section of the aircraft was overheating. Almost instantly,
the F-22's onboard computers detected an air leak in the engine bay and
began automatic shutdown of various systems — including the main oxygen
supply.
Gasping for air, Haney set the throttles to idle
and
began lowering the plane to the snow-covered valley below. About 35
seconds later, Haney's plane began to roll upside down. He couldn't
recover. There amid the Talkeetna Mountains north of Anchorage, Haney,
31, crashed and died.
The crash was another grim episode for the controversial Lockheed Martin
Corp.-made F-22 fighter jet that has been in service since 2005, yet
never called into combat despite conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan and
Libya. The plane, the military's most expensive fighter jet, has
continued to experience equipment problems — notably with its oxygen
systems.
New details from an Air Force report last week drew attention to the
November 2010 crash and raised questions about the F-22 and the way the
Air Force has dealt with the plane's ongoing oxygen problems.

After years of work trying to replicate the colouring on the shroud, a
similar image has been created by the scientists. However, they only
managed the effect by scorching equivalent linen material with
high-intensity ultra violet lasers, undermining the arguments of other
research, they say, which claims the Turin Shroud is a medieval hoax.
Such technology, say researchers from the National Agency for New
Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (Enea), was
far beyond the capability of medieval forgers, whom most experts have
credited with making the famous relic. "The results show that a short
and intense burst of UV directional radiation can colour a linen cloth
so as to reproduce many of the peculiar characteristics of the body
image on the Shroud of Turin," they said. And in case there was any
doubt about the preternatural degree of energy needed to make such
distinct marks, the Enea report spells it out: "This degree of power
cannot be reproduced by any normal UV source built to date." A statement
by lead researcher, Dr Paolo Di Lazzaro, said: "If our results prompt a
philosophical or theological debate, these conclusions we'll leave to
the experts; to each person's own conscience," he said.

Chinese Academy of Sciences names
CMU's Veloso an Einstein Chair Professor

Manuela M. Veloso who this summer will become president of the
Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI), is
the only AI and robotics researcher among this year's Einstein Chair
Professors. Her lectures will focus on symbiotic autonomy, a concept she
is pioneering in which robots are aware of their perceptual, physical,
and reasoning limitations and proactively ask for help from humans.
Symbiotic autonomy is employed by several robots, called CoBots, that
her research
group
has deployed on the Carnegie Mellon campus. The CoBots can navigate on
their own through hallways while delivering or fetching messages and
packages, but must ask people for help when confused or for performing
manipulation tasks such as opening doors or pushing elevator buttons.
Veloso is well known for her work on robot soccer, which is an important
research tool for studying how autonomous agents can work cooperatively
in complex, uncertain environments. She is past president of the
International RoboCup Federation, which sponsors annual world
championships in robot soccer.
Computers
Alan Turing: Mathematician, master
codebreaker and father of computer science, Alan Turing was a genius
touched by tragedy
COMBAT DIARIES: Tragedy? Rubbish! Instead of giving Turing a University
Department and a open cheque, les anglais (who hate cleverness of any
kind) smashed his machine (Colossus) to pieces in 1945 and tortured him
to death.
"Alan
Turing was one of those remarkably brilliant men who had a profound
influence upon the development of several fields. He was a talented
mathematician who, during World War II, used his prodigious abilities
and skills to break German ciphers for the British government's Code and
Cypher School at Bletchley Park. To do this, he invented a number of
electromechanical instruments to help narrow down possible solutions to
these ciphers to a manageable number for further investigation. These
instruments are recognised as the foundation of computers, which are
essential foundations of current civilisation.
Dr Turing then became interested in artificial intelligence and devised
the so-called "Turing Test", to define whether a machine is
"intelligent". In short, this test is based on the idea that, if a human
could not distinguish a machine from another human being by talking to
it, the machine was defined as being "intelligent". Besides being useful
in the field, the Turing Test is generally useful, often being applied
to politicians and to commenters on the internet."

Mars visitors Basiago and Stillings
confirm Barack Obama traveled to Mars
By Alfred Lambremont Webre, JD, MEd
Two
former participants in the CIA’s Mars visitation program of the early
1980’s have confirmed that U.S. President Barack H. Obama was enrolled
in their Mars training class in 1980 and was among the young Americans
from the program who they later encountered on the Martian surface after
reaching Mars via “jump room.”
Andrew D. Basiago, 50, a lawyer in Washington State who served in
DARPA’s time travel program Project Pegasus in the 1970’s, and fellow
chrononaut William B. Stillings, 44, who was tapped by the Mars program
for his technical genius, have publicly confirmed that Obama was
enrolled in their Mars training class in 1980 and that each later
encountered Obama during visits to rudimentary U.S. facilities on Mars
that took place from 1981 to 1983.
Their astonishing revelations provide a new dimension to the controversy
surrounding President Obama’s background and pose the possibility that
it is an elaborate ruse to conceal Obama’s participation as a young man
in the U.S. secret space program.

The Internal Intelligence Explosion:
A New Kind of Conspiracy
What
happens when we bear witness to technology and other “phenomena” here on
Earth that we can’t explain? Science fiction writer and mathematician
Vernor Vinge, credited with initiating the concept of a “Singularity” or
intelligence explosion awaiting us in the near future, has often made
statements along these lines, alluding to circumstances that would
represent the arrival of the new super intelligent future humanity, or
artificial intelligence, or maybe even a complex combination of the two.
Of
course, among the readers of this blog, most of us are already thinking,
“wait, what do you mean when that happens? Those kinds of things are
happening right now!” In truth, this has been happening for quite some
time… but what, pray tell, could this actually mean? Have the aliens
landed, or have interdimensional invaders finally bridged the gap
between worlds? Or just perhaps… could it mean that there is a sort of
divergence of intelligent species right here on Earth?

"Lady Gaga generated a great buzz among her fans when
she announced that the video to Marry the Night would reveal a part of

not. But from that strange starting point, the video proceeds to depict
Gaga’s rise to super-stardom. How does all of that tie in together? To

Russia shooting: Dagestan journalist
Kamalov shot dead
A gunman has shot and killed the founder of a
newspaper that reports on corruption and police abuses in Russia's
southern republic of Dagestan. Gadzhimurat Kamalov was hit by a hail of
bullets outside the offices of his newspaper Chernovik late on Thursday,
in Dagestan's capital Makhachkala. Violence is rife in Dagestan, where
police have been battling Islamist insurgents since the 1990s. Chernovik
staff have been "persecuted", a US-based media watchdog says.
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called Kamalov's violent
death "a massive loss for independent journalism in the North Caucasus,
Russia's most dangerous place for reporters". The CPJ says Russia has
one of the worst records in the world for attacks on journalists, with
18 unsolved press murders since 2000. The weekly Chernovik - meaning
"rough draft" - was founded by Kamalov in 2003. He was its editor for
several years and remained its publisher until his death.

Speaking to Jewish Audience, Obama
Reiterates Record on Israel
Washington,
Dec. 16 – President Obama strongly defended his administration’s
“unshakeable” relationship with – and support for – Israel in a speech
today to a major American Jewish group.
“No U.S. administration has done more in support of Israel's security
than ours,” Obama told delegates to the Union for Reform Judaism’s
Biennial convention. “Don' let anyone else tell you otherwise. It is a
fact."
Before the speech, Obama met on the sidelines of the conference with
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who had already spoke at the
convention, for about a half hour.
The President has used similar lines to rebut critics in the past, as in
late November at an exclusive fundraiser with Jewish donors in New York
City. “This administration – I try not to pat myself too much on the
back – but this administration has done more in terms of the security of
the state of Israel than any previous administration,” he said then.

Are We Living Inside a Brain? (Neural
Architecture of the Akashic Records)
Penfield, Life Reviews and the
Akashic Records
In
the 1930s and onwards, neurosurgeon Wilder Penfield developed a surgical
procedure for epileptics in which he operated on a patient’s exposed
brain while the patient remained fully conscious. When an electrode was
placed on the patient’s temporal lobe, the patient had a complete
flashback to an episode from earlier in his life. (Applying the
electrode to other parts of the brain did not produce this.) The scenes
always moved forward, and only forward. If music was involved, this
followed the precise original tempo; the full score of which the
patients would be able to hum with total accuracy — much as an autistic
savant would be able to reproduce music with almost complete accuracy —
like a recording on a video or compact disc.
Penfield, in his book The Mystery of the Mind recounted, “They were
electrical activations of the sequential record of consciousness, a
record that had been laid down during the patient's earlier experience.
The patient ‘re-lived’ all that he had been aware of in that earlier
period of time as in a moving-picture 'flashback'.” He said, "Each time
I re-stimulated, she heard the melody again. It began at the same place
and went on from chorus to verse." Penfield concluded that the brain
stores everything its owner has ever experienced in its original form.
The flash-backs seemed to play themselves out in their proper order like
scenes in a movie. "Since the electrode may activate a random sample of
this strip from the distant past," he reasoned, "and since the most
unimportant and completely forgotten periods of time may appear in this
sampling, it seems reasonable to suppose that the record is complete and
that it does include all periods of each individual's waking conscious
life".
Apocalypse
Guardians of the Apocalypse
For the uninitiated, existential risk is a broad term
covering catastrophic events that could wipe out the human species. Some
existential risk devotees agonize over nuclear wars, climate change, and
virus outbreaks. Others, such as Rick Schwall, put more energy into
worrying about the potential downside of information technology. They
fret about a super-powerful artificial intelligence run amok and hordes
of killer nanobots. “There are a number of people who have knowledge in
this field that estimate humanity’s chance at making it through this
century at about 50 percent,” Schwall says. “Even if that number is way
off and it’s one in a billion, that’s too high for me.”

Intervention Theory
A New eBook By Lloyd Pye
Intervention Theory challenges Creationism,
Intelligent Design, and Evolution, by offering plausible explanations
for many of the conundrums left unanswered by those other theories. The
new eBook takes the same aggressive approach as EYKIW, showing how and
why so much of what mainstream science professes is not just wrong, but
blatantly, willfully wrong, often in the face of evidence that would be
overwhelming in any court in the world. Its revelations are astonishing,
but they are presented in simple terms and concepts easily grasped by
anyone.
A
Basic Guide to the Intervention Theory of Origins—of the Universe, of
Life, of Hominoids, and of Humans
Since Lloyd Pye published his seminal book, Everything You Know Is Wrong
(EYKIW), in 1997, his fact-based, no-nonsense explanation of origins has
developed a devoted international following. In the years since EYKIW
was written, there have been so many advances and new discoveries that
rather than updating it, Lloyd decided to break his update into several
completely new eBooks, starting with Intervention Theory Essentials. It
details Lloyd's alternative views about Origins---of the universe, of
life itself, and especially of humans and hominoids, all of which are
inextricably linked together in ways nobody fully understands, least of
all the scientists who claim to understand precisely that.

Scientists at Boston University and ATR Computational Neuroscience

They have been studying how a functional magnetic resonance machine

sending signals that change their brain activity pattern.

Navy Drone? Webb City, Missouri

"I live in Webb City, Missouri. Last night on
December 13th, 2011, I noticed police lights out my window. I went to
the front porch to get a better look. There was a flat bed truck with a
very large craft on the bed. It was entirely shrinkwrapped so that you
couldn't see what was underneath. There were approximately 10-12 highway
patrol in the back and the front of this truck blocking off the road.
The news that evening stated that it was a drone for the Navy. I am very
familiar with all of our military drones and this craft looks like
nothing that is of public knowledge. It had no wings, like all of our
drones do. It was shaped just like a disc, and was stablized with bars
that were also shrink wrapped so it would stay on the truck. In my
opinion, who ever issued the
statement
made a mistake. Because saying that it is a drone, ackknowledges that it
flies and to my knowledge our military has no craft like this that
flies. I have 3 pictures of the craft, from various angles."

No, it's not a UFO
A U.S. Navy drone making its way through the Four States has prompted
calls to our station about a "UFO" sighting. One reluctant caller simply
said "it must be a movie prop".
Actually, it's a Northrop Grumman X-47B naval unmanned drone (see below)
and it's en route to a naval air station in Maryland. When we spoke with
officials the drone was under a tarp and on a trailer near Asbury,
Missouri.
The drone is a tailless, autonomous, unmanned aircraft developed by the

The drone is being designed to operate from an aircraft carrier at sea.

New Banksy anti-Christian artwork

A sculpture
of a 'vandalised' priest by the underground artist Banksy has gone on
display today alongside 17th-century Old Masters. The artist, known for
his graffiti on the streets of cities across the world, has created
Cardinal Sin, a replica of an 18th-century stone bust which has had the
face sawn off and replaced with a mosaic of bathroom tiles. The effect
is to replicate the pixellation techniques used in the media to prevent
identification of victims of sex crimes. It is believed Cardinal Sin is
a comment on the sexual abuse scandal which has engulfed the Catholic
Church. The sculpture has been placed alongside works by Van Dyck and
Poussin at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
The Walker unveiled the priest sculpture to the public today after it
was given on indefinite loan by the artist. It has never been seen in
public before. In a statement issued by the gallery on behalf of the
mysterious artist, Banksy said: 'I love everything about the Walker
Gallery - the Old Masters, the contemporary art, the rude girl in the
cafe.
'And when I found out Mr Walker built it with beer money, it became my
favourite gallery.
'The statue? I guess you could call it a Christmas present.

Cambridge University Library holds the largest and most important
collection of the scientific works of Isaac Newton (1642-1727). We
present here an initial selection of Newton's manuscripts, concentrating
on his mathematical work in the 1660s. Over the next few months we will
be adding further works until the majority of our Newton Papers are

Newton was closely associated with Cambridge. He came to the University
as a student in 1661, graduating in 1665, and from 1669 to 1701 he held
the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics. Under the regulations for this Chair,
Newton was required to deposit copies of his lectures in the University

replicate the pixellation techniques used in the media to
prevent identification of victims of sex crimes. It is
believed Cardinal Sin is a comment on the sexual abuse scandal
which has engulfed the Catholic Church. The sculpture has been
placed alongside works by Van Dyck and Poussin at the Walker Art
Gallery in Liverpool.
The Walker unveiled the priest sculpture to the public today
after it was given on indefinite loan by the artist. It has
never been seen in public before. In a statement issued by the
gallery on behalf of the mysterious artist, Banksy said: 'I love
everything about the Walker Gallery - the Old Masters, the
contemporary art, the rude girl in the cafe.
'And when I found out Mr Walker built it with beer money, it
became my favourite gallery.
'The statue? I guess you could call it a Christmas present.

Crowdsourcing to predict the
future of computing
Summary: An experiment in predicting the
future using crowdsourcing has predicted advances in technology,
wireless, cloud intelligence, artificial intelligence and the
mutation of super viruses. When do you think that cars that
drive themself will be the norm, or that you will be able to
have a continuous wireless connection to the Internet through
your brain? When will computer viruses spontaneously evolve?
When will we be able to use some form of ‘Universal Translation
tool’ to communicate with your peers across the globe each
speaking in your own language?
The New York Times imagines that the ‘future’ will actually
begin in 2020, and has been running a crowdsourcing experiment.
Science Times has been running an experiment, asking its readers
to predict when events will occur.

Cambridge University Library holds the largest and most
important collection of the scientific works of Isaac Newton
(1642-1727). We present here an initial selection of Newton's
manuscripts, concentrating on his mathematical work in the
1660s. Over the next few months we will be adding further works
until the majority of our Newton Papers are available on this
site.
Newton was closely associated with Cambridge. He came to the
University as a student in 1661, graduating in 1665, and from
1669 to 1701 he held the Lucasian Chair of Mathematics. Under
the regulations for this Chair, Newton was required to deposit
copies of his lectures in the University Library. These, and
some correspondence relating to the University, were assigned
the classmarks Dd.4.18, Dd.9.46, Dd.9.67, Dd.9.68, and Mm.6.50.
In 1699 Newton was appointed Master of the Mint, and in 1703 he
was elected President of the Royal Society, a post he occupied
until his death.

former official from within the ranks of the Federal Bureau of

regime of President Bashar al-Assad. Whistleblower Sibel
Edmonds, formerly a translator with the FBI, wrote over the

have mysteriously and suddenly landed on the Jordanian and
Syrian border. According to her, several sources internationally
have confirmed the news, although the US media has been
instructed to temporarily censor itself from reporting the news.
Additionally, Edmonds says that American and NATO forces are
training Turkish troops as well, to possibly launch a strike
from the north of Syria.

The attacks, which steal billions of dollars in intellectual

say the US often gives the attackers unique names or numbers,
and at times can tell where the hackers are and even who they

Nuclear knowhow, S300 are
Iran's price for Russian, Chinese access to US drone?
Iran is driving a hard bargain for granting
access to the US stealth drone RQ-170 it captured undamaged last
week, as Russian and Chinese military intelligence teams
arriving in Tehran for a look at the secret aircraft soon found.
debkafile's Moscow sources disclose that the price set by
Revolutionary Guards commander Gen. Ali Jaafari includes
advanced nuclear and missile technology, especially systems
using solid fuel, the last word on centrifuges for enriching
uranium and the S-300PMU-1 air defense system, which Moscow has
consistently refused to sell Tehran.
This
super-weapon is effective against stealth warplanes and cruise
missiles and therefore capable of seriously impairing any
large-scale US or Israeli air or missile attacks on Iran's
nuclear sites.
Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sent Russian-speaking
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to Moscow on Dec. 7 to try
and dissuade Prime Minister Vladimir Putin from letting Iran
have the S-300 batteries as payment for access to the captured
US drone.
Sources in Washington report that before sending Lieberman to
Moscow, Netanyahu first checked with the White House at the
highest levels.
Although he had his hands full with stormy demonstrations in
Moscow protesting alleged election fraud, Putin received
Lieberman at the Kremlin. But the interview was short. The
Russian prime minister refused to discuss the episode with his
Israeli guest or even confirm that Moscow was engaged in any
deal with Tehran.
In answer to reporters' questions, Lieberman commented:
"Russia's positions on the Middle East were not helpful."

to Enfield MP David Burrowes, there have been many cases where
situations similar to that of Asperger’s-sufferer McKinnon have
resulted in short term imprisonment in the UK.
Another young Brit with Asperger’s, Aaron Caffrey, was blamed
for “the biggest computer hack to hit the United States” back in
2001 but was not sent to the US. “He was not extradited to the
United States, but was tried in this country and found not
guilty,” Burrowes pointed out.
Burrowes also pointed to another man who “was said to be doing
‘more harm than the KGB’”, and was labelled the “'No.1 threat to
US security’”. This individual was also prosecuted in the UK and
fined £1,200. Another example was $5.5 billion worth of damage
allegedly caused by Andrew Harvey and Jordan Bradley, who
received six and three months’ imprisonment respectively.
With so many clear cases demonstrating the disparity between
McKinnon and others, Burrowes wondered why McKinnon has been
awaiting extradition for a tenth year with a lengthy sentence
ahead of him across the pond.

makes Middle East organisations rethink their cyber security
plans
For the cyber world, 2011 will be remembered for the serious
high-profile cyber attacks on major organisations including IMF,
AT&T, Citibank and the US Pentagon that shocked the world. With
many still struggling to recover from the damage caused by
Stuxnet, the recent discovery of Stuxnet 2 ensures that 2012
will not be an easy one for cyber security experts – or indeed
other organisations. Popularly known as ‘Duqu’, it does not
target automation or PLC gear - instead it's used for
reconnaissance - and collects various types of information from
infected systems for a future attack. It's possible we'll
eventually see a new attack based on the information gathered by
Duqu. With many organisations still trying to consolidate
preventative measures against Stuxnet and hacktivist groups, the
discovery of Duqu has caused them to reassess their current and
future cyber security plans.

An American Trident nuclear ballistic missile submarine, gliding
along the surface of the Pacific Ocean.
By DAVID WISE
Published: December 10, 2011
"IN 1995, a middle-aged Chinese man walked
into a C.I.A. station in Southeast Asia and offered up a trove
of secret Chinese documents. Among them was a file containing
the top-secret design of the American W-88 nuclear warhead that
sits atop the missiles carried by Trident submarines.
He told a story to the C.I.A. that was so bizarre it might just
be true. He said that he worked in China’s nuclear program and
had access to the archive where classified documents were
stored. He went there after hours one night, scooped up hundreds
of documents and stuffed them into a duffel bag, which he then
tossed out a second-story window to evade security guards.
Unfortunately, the bag broke and the papers scattered.
Outside, he collected the files and stuffed them back into the
torn bag. Although many of the documents were of interest for
their intelligence content, it was the one about the W-88 that
roiled American counterintelligence most because it contained
highly classified details about a cutting-edge warhead design."

What's Going on at Iran's
Nuclear Site?

The first clear pictures of Iran’s nuclear
site near Isfahan have been published and analyzed following an
explosion at or near the site on Nov. 28, and they provide
another piece of the puzzle. But what happened there remains a
mystery.
Iran’s uranium conversion facility sits outside Isfahan. It is
here that yellowcake is turned into uranium hexafluoride gas
(UF6), which is then fed into centrifuges and turned into
enriched uranium. The enriched uranium then can be made into
fuel for power stations, or it can be highly enriched for a
nuclear bomb.
Fox News obtained satellite pictures of the Isfahan nuclear site
between Dec. 3 and 5, less than a week after reports of
explosions in the area were heard. Analysts at the Institute for
Science and International Security (ISIS), which employs some of
the most widely respected experts on Iran’s nuclear sites,
scrutinized the images and said there is no evidence of an
explosion -- but there wouldn’t be clear evidence several days
after an event.

"Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked Islamist militant group, has

Somalia is currently facing its worst drought in more than six

Somalia is compounded by Islamist insurgency and acute poverty.
Al-Shabaab is Somalia's most prominent and influential Islamist

The
Hopkinsville Aliens

On the night of August 21, 1955, two Kentucky
families claimed to have fought unknown beings. In a rural area
of Kentucky, near Hopkinsville and Kelly, two families contend
they battled extraterrestrial creatures. The event happened
around the Sutton farmhouse, where the Suttons and the Taylors
gathered for dinner. At some point during the evening, Billy Ray
Taylor went outside to draw water from the well.
Taylor witnessed a huge, bright object land in the woods about a
quarter of a mile from the house. He started towards
the
house with the water when he saw a strange creature approaching.
Billy Ray dropped the bucket and ran into the house. Both he and
Lucky Sutton picked up firearms and ran back outside. Taylor
fired his .22 caliber rifle and Lucky fired his shotgun but
neither weapon had any effect on the creature.
Sutton and Taylor described the aliens as three feet tall, with
pointed ears, thin limbs, long arms and claw-like hands. They
said the creatures looked like gremlins, hence they became known
as the Hopkinsville Goblins. The beings were either silvery in
color or were wearing something metallic. The strangest aspect
of these creature was their movements.

Review
`Umberto Eco is not the first to notice the overlap between
fiction-making and criminality. But few books have explored the
idea with the ingenuity and imagination that Eco does in this
magnificent new novel, which marks a return to the heady mixture
of absorbing ideas and down-and-dirty historical detail that
made The Name of the Rose (1980) such an international

`Like The Name of the Rose, it is about dangerous writing; books
for which men will commit murders. Like Foucault's Pendulum, it
delves into the paranoiac mind of conspiracy theorists, the
awful "apophenia" where everything is a sign for something
else... it is a work of ingenious sleight of hand.' ----Stuart

Sydney Cohen, early Israeli
air force pilot
By Alan D. Abbey · December 6, 2011
Sydney Cohen, whose contributions to
Israel’s War of Independence as an early leader in the nascent
Israeli Air Force are still remembered, died Dec. 1 at 90 in his
Ramat Hasharon home.
Cohen, a native of South Africa, flew Czech Spitfires to Israel
in the early days of the war and was an early commander of
Squadron 101, Israel’s first dedicated fighter squadron and one
of the air force’s first units in the days when the IAF was a
ragtag collection of planes and hotshot pilots, many of them
volunteers.

Secret Bases Exposed!
By NickRedfern
Area
51, Hangar 18, Montauk, and the Dulce Base: these are just a
handful of the many and varied select, highly-classified
installations about which the governments of the United States,
Australia, China, Russia, the United Kingdom and elsewhere
prefer we, the general public, remain steadfastly ignorant. And
those same governments have extremely good reasons for wishing
us to remain in the dark.
It is at these very same secret facilities that, for decades,
clandestine research is said to have been undertaken into lethal
viruses, genetic manipulation, crashed UFOs and deceased alien
entities, biological-warfare, mind-control experimentation,
futuristic aircraft and spacecraft, teleportation,
weather-modification, invisibility, time-travel, and much, much
more of a conspiratorial and cosmic nature.
Whether situated deep under the oceans, far below the ground, or
within the heart of hidden, remote desert locales, these and
many other super-secret places are guarded with a paranoid zeal
by those in power who wish to keep their secrets buried and
locked far away from prying-eyes. Sometimes, however, the huge,
steel, near-impenetrable vault-like doors that help to hide the
shocking truths open wide – or are forced open – and the
shocking secrets within are revealed…
In fact, they are revealed in my brand new book, Keep Out!

Andrew
Basiago Demands
Time Travel disclosure

Below we see
Mr. Basiago travelling to Mars on his DARPA-built Time Machine:

"Andrew D. Basiago and Dr. David L. Anderson – independently
emphasize the connection between creating a positive human
future and public disclosure of the time travel and time control
capabilities that they say the U.S. government has developed but
kept secret, thereby depriving the world of the potential
life-advantaging benefits of technologies that manipulate the
quantum environment.
Mr Basiago has publicly stated how in 1971 he viewed moving
images of the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001
that had been obtained from the future and brought back to the
early 1970’s.
Mr. Basiago stated that teleportation could be used to move
people and goods more efficiently around the globe, without the
pollution caused by planes, trains, and automobiles or the
negative effects upon land use of airports, railroads, and
highways.
Dr. Anderson stated that time control technology will solve the
global energy crisis, with diverse applications in both new
energy production and medical research."

Multiple Bomb
Attacks in Iraq on a Day Holy to Shiites
Bomb blasts ripped into throngs of religious pilgrims on
Monday as they streamed through Iraq’s streets to honor one of
the most sacred holidays of Shiite Islam, in what has become
almost an annual spilling of blood and stirring of sectarian
anger. At least 20 people — many of them women and children —
were killed in three bomb blasts about 50 miles south of
Baghdad, security officials and hospital officials said. Dozens
more were injured.

"In 1995, the Los Alamos Laboratory reported
in a highly classified document that both (Roswell) ALIEN CRAFT
contained
TIME DEVICES that our scientists were able to translate into OUR
time periods. The TIME DEVICE that was found in the Roswell
craft was NOT known to be a TIME DEVICE until then.
Scientists at Los Alamos used a supercomputer to analyze the
device and found that the display on the device was a recording
of a time period just PRIOR to the craft crashing.
Using the alien "Energy Device" [USG codenamed: "CRYSTAL
RECTANGLE"] that was also found in the craft, they were able to
turn on the TIME DEVICE and viewed different displays or
readouts in the EBEN language. Based on what they already knew
of the language, they were able to determine each sequence of
time displays as being a set date under the EBEN calendar."

Hollywood producer claims
proof of UFOs
Hollywood
producer J. Herbert Klein has proof that UFOs exist. That is the
claim he makes in his new book Beyond Hollywood: A Memoir of
Fate, Luck, the Unexplained, and Living the American Dream. The
book was announced today via press release from International
Film Arts, a production company founded by Klein and his
business partner, movie star Jon Hall. According to the press
release, Klein and Hall invented things together, including a
square anamorphic lens that Klein believed “could photograph the
invisible – UFOs, alien life forms, energy fields, and other
unexplained phenomena.”
The pair reportedly shot thousands of photographs using their
special lens, and “frequently captured images that could only be
called out of this world.” The 296-page book features
approximately 100 photos taken by Klein and Hall, “including
many amazing shots of unexplained phenomena.”

DARPA
“All Your Shreds Are Belong to U.S.” Wins $50,000 DARPA Shredder
Challenge

A San Francisco-based team has just won the DARPA Shredder
Challenge. DARPA, the government agency whose work led to the
creation of the Internet, challenged the public to reconstruct
five shredded documents. The winning team, called “All Your
Shreds Are Belong to U.S.” completed the task in 33 days,
spending nearly 600 man-hours building algorithms and piecing
together more than 10,000 shreds.
9,000 teams registered to compete. The winning teams gets a
$50,000 prize paid for by the U.S. Treasury.
Dan Kaufman, director, DARPA Information Innovation Office says
“the most effective approaches were not purely computational or
crowd-sourced, but used a combination blended with some clever
detective work.”
DARPA Director Regina Dugan adds “The DARPA Shredder Challenge
underscores the value of increasing the number and diversity of
problem solvers. The varied methods used have potential
implications for so-called ‘wicked problems,’ generally
considered insolvable by conventional means, and offer the
possibility of increased speed, agility and breadth in
innovation.” I’ll say.
The shredder challenge also suggests just because you shred
something, that doesn’t mean it can’t be put back together.

Germany supplies Israel with Submarines
capable of carrying missiles with nuclear warheads

Germany has approved the sale of a sixth Dolphin submarine to Israel and will
pay for a third of its cost, government sources told dpa on Wednesday.
Israel already has three German-made Dolphin submarines, which are capable of
carrying missiles with nuclear warheads. Berlin paid for two of the submarines
and the cost of the third was shared between the two countries. Two more are
being constructed.
The government sources said Germany had allocated up to 135 million euros (180
million dollars) in next year's budget to pay for its share of the cost for the
sixth submarine, the sale of which is part of a deal finalized in 2005.
The submarines are seen as a strategic asset for Israel in any future
confrontation with Iran...Israel is believed to have the Middle East's only
nuclear arsenal, a claim it neither confirms nor denies.

Global uncertainty means less planning
and more ability to think on your feet
"When Thatcher and Reagan threw away the
political tools for moderating markets, they also wrecked any notion of
planning, which is, paradoxically, perhaps the only good deed that they did. Who
forecast 9/11, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, the significant though
ridiculously over-hyped Arab Spring, China's turn to capitalism, the political
longevity of Silvio Berlusconi, mobile phone and PC penetration or the revival
of world religions, to take a few phenomena at random? And who can forecast the
next bout of global hysteria?
At a local level, who can forecast the geometrically rising chances of
catastrophe as population density increases: high-casualty crashes on the roads;
chemical explosions in densely populated areas; the theft of lead from church
roofs and copper cable from railway power lines; or viral rioting?"
