AUGUST NEW TITLES: We will start with the most significant collection we've ever offered.
1. Internet Sacred Text Archive, compilers. THE INTERNET SACRED TEXT ARCHIVE. ISTA, no date. CD-Rom, version 4.0a. When it comes to "sacred texts" your research and rare book worries just vanished forever. For this single CD-Rom ties you in to over 900 (and counting—nearly every week new items are added) rare, classic or esoteric works, ancient to modern, the vast majority complete texts. Need the entire Mahabarata? It's here, just connect to it. Need Waite's "The Hermetic Museum," or Manly Hall's "Secret Teachings of All Ages"? They're here. Need the rare "Friar Bacon His Discovery of the Miracles of Art, Nature and Magick"? You got it. In fact, it would take more pages to list the 902 items currently contained here than I have pages to devote to the whole August catalog. The majority will be actual "sacred texts," famous and obscure, from all religions and beliefs of the world, but there are also huge offerings of folklore and mythology from many regions and countries, as well as many old classic works in the sacred sciences (great run of alchemy), philosophy and social science. True, you will either have to study these on your computer or run the expense of printing them out, but the main thing is that you will have acquired an incredible 900 + item holding of the world's greatest metaphysical and spiritual works—in a space no larger than will cover the palm of your hand. No more inter-library loans or long trips to libraries which may have hard copies of such works, and you can use this CD whenever your schedule permits, home or away, 24/7. Maybe the damned computer is good for something noble after all! It will also free up money you had perhaps earmarked for rare books so that you can now send it Arcturus's way for a bunch of our regular titles—you know, the ones you have let go by for years, and which by now have left you hundreds of books behind in your library-building. In my opinion this is the single greatest "book" I have ever offered, hands down, and a true miracle for those studying in religious or metaphysical areas. At $49.95 it's an absolute steal!
2. Bennett, Colin. AMERICAN DEMONOLOGY: FLYING SAUCERS OVER THE WHITE HOUSE. Headpress, 2005. Trade softbound. This is a portrait of Capt. Edward J. Ruppelt, the besieged head of Project Blue Book in the early 1950s. Ruppelt guided Blue Book through the 1952 wave. After leaving the service he wrote his combined memoirs / comments, under the title The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects (1956). His book is still regarded as one of the best ever written on the subject (though he was apparently pressured to water down his conclusions in a "revised edition" published in 1958). Colin Bennett specializes in "portraitures" of leading UFO researchers; he previously wrote books about George Adamski and Charles Fort. This title was scheduled for May but is now due out in the UK, with American availability sometime in August. Retail price is supposed to be $13.95, but I don't believe it—the Euro price is a lot higher than that. Should be in the $19-20 area, but check before ordering.
3. 2006 HUBBLE SPACE CALENDAR. A whole year full of those fantastic Hubble photos! $13.95
4. 2006 FRANK FRAZETTA CALENDAR. Check out the softbound cover for Keel's Mothman Prophecies and you'll know why you want this so much. $13.95
5. Chalker, Bill. HAIR OF THE ALIEN: DNA & OTHER FORENSIC EVIDENCE OF ALIEN ABDUCTION. Paraview, 2005. Trade softbound, supposed to be 350pp. 12 years ago in Australia, one Peter Khoury awakened to find two "women" kneeling on his bed. They apparently pounced on poor Peter in a "physical assault," and then vanished instantly. Just another "alien encounter" case? Yes, except for one additional detail—one of the females left behind two whitish-blonde hairs. The genetic analysis of these hair samples is the subject of this book—and for the first time, possible forensic physical evidence obtained from non-human beings in our reality following a close encounter with a human! It does not prove extraterrestrial reality, but the case certainly opens up many more questions than it answers. $14.00
6. Coleman, Loren. MYSTERIOUS AMERICA. Paraview, 2001. HC, revised ed., 334pp, here is the only hardcover version of this Fortean classic. Only a very few available, $28.95
7. Commander X. TELEPORTATION: FROM HOLLYWOOD TO OFFICIAL U.S. AIR FORCE LABS… Inner Light, 2005. Lg. softbound, includes CD with the book. How about teleporting some cash from your credit card to Arcturus's bank account. $22.95
8. Commander X. STRANGE AND UNEXPLAINED DEATHS AT THE HANDS OF THE SECRET GOVERNMENT. Inner Light, 2005. Lg. softbound, paging not known, guess about 100. I would imagine we will find such inexplicable deaths as that of Jim Keith (died of infection following surgery), Ron Bonds (burst vessels from food poisoning), and the usual Jessup-Barker-McDonald types. $20.00
9. Connors, Wendy, Compiler. HUMANOIDS: AN AUDIO RETROSPECTIVE. Faded Discs, 2005. MP3 on CD. 34 tracks, 13 hours, 5 mins running time. 34 different tracks all concerning eyewitness testimony about aliens associated with landed UFOs. Some of the greats are to be found here, including Olavo Fontes on the Villas-Boas case, Gary Wilcox, Joe Simonton describes the pancakes some aliens gave him, Leonard Stringfield's 70-minute lecture on aliens and crashed saucers, and a 74-minute discussion about encounters with UFOnauts featuring Ted Bloecher, Frank Salisbury and Curtis Fuller. Rare and irreplaceable UFO audio!! $25.00
10. Cox, Wyatt. UFO AND BIGFOOT SIGHTINGS IN ALABAMA. The author, no date. Trade softcover, 121pp, few photos. The author opens with a list of 12 theories for UFO activity, then continues with a case catalog of Alabama UFO & bigfoot cases, 1934-2003. There is also a chapter on the Fyffe cattle mute cases, another on the Falkville "tin man," and a third on the St. Florian spook lights. Great regional ufology! $13.95, in stock
11. Devereux, Paul. FAIRY PATHS AND SPIRIT ROADS: EXPLORING OTHERWORLDLY ROUTES IN THE OLD & NEW WORLDS. Trade softbound. This will be of use to students of ley lines, Nazca-like paths, fairy lore and earth currents. $14.95
12. Fernandes,
Joaquim, and D'Armada, Fina. HEAVENLY LIGHTS: THE APPARITIONS OF
FATIMA
AND THE UFO PHENOMENON.
Ecce Nova, 2005. Trade
softbound, 264pp. Illustrated, notes. There have been mentions of
Fatima as a UFO experience here and there in UFO literature. Now,
nearly 90 years after the events of May-October, 1917, comes a book
which directly compares Fatima with classic UFO encounters—not from
just a single point of view, but from as many different angles of
interpretation as there are human senses to record them. Granted,
neither Fatima nor any UFO
experience to date can be said to lend itself to truly
13. Galde, Phyllis, ed. FATE PRESENTS….UFO SPECIAL. Fate, 2005. Small softbound, 115pp. Non-scheduled publication, done in a very small edition! With Nick Redfern ticking off the top ten UFO stories of 2001-2005, capsule biogs of the top 100 ufologists, 4 articles by Mary Ellen Guiley, building & detecting UFOs, UFOs and pilots, and foreword by Jerome Clark. Grab now at $13.95 14. Godwin, Joscelyn. ROBERT FLUDD: HERMETIC PHILOSOPHER AND SURVEYOR OF TWO WORLDS. Lg. trade softbound. This well-known study of 17th-century Robert Fludd is now re-issued—and beautifully illustrated with his intricate depictions of the "spheres." $17.00
15. Goldstone, Lawrence and Nancy. THE FRIAR AND THE CIPHER: THE UNSOLVED MYSTERY OF THE MOST UNUSUAL MANUSCRIPT IN THE WORLD. HC, bibliographical data not known at press time. This is another new title about the Voynich Manuscript—as such it will make a great addition to the "strange manuscript" section of your library, the one you began when you bought Kennedy's book about the Voynich Manuscript (see later in this catalog). $26.00
16. Goodwin, Simon, and Gribbin, John. XTL: EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE AND HOW TO FIND IT. Hardcover, bibliographical data not known at press time. Illustrated with super Hubble photos & computer graphics. Limited stock, $29.95
17. Greenfield, Art. WARNING. The author, 2001. Trade softbound, 477pp, photo section. An alarmist harangue based on the (author's) irrational fear that aliens are here to harvest human bodies and/or parts thereof. It's long, but it's written in a lively style, and—right or wrong—the author has a lot to say about the UFO Experience and the way in which human society may find itself in very hot water sooner than it ever dreamed possible. Give it a chance—it'll keep you reading for weeks. $27.95
18. Guazzo, Francesco Maria. COMPENDIUM MALEFICARUM. Trade softbound, bibliographical information not available at press time. New appearance of this famous—and very, very, scary—manual for inquisitioners to torture admissions of witchcraft out of terrified peasants. Way to go, Church!! $18.95
19. Haas, George, et al. THE CYDONIA COMPLEX: REFLECTIONS FROM MARS. Trade softbound, paging not known at press time. This was out last year as a CD item which offered the opportunity to print it out if one wanted. Now you can avoid all of that hassle, for here is a ready-made book version of the material. This takes Cydonia one step further, by tracing counterparts of the images observed (from a verrrrrry great distance!) on Mars) to Earthly images which appear similar—most notably in Mayan art and architecture. You may draw your own inferences. $18.95
20. Hall, Richard. UFO SIGHTINGS IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM—2005 EDITION. FUFOR, 2005. Lg. booklet, 40+ pages. Updated version! $10.00
21. Hammond, Timothy L. THE CHILLICOTHE UFO CHRONICLES: CONTACT 2005. Xlibris, 2005. 108pp. Grammatically-challenged ex-cop writes a ufo book—just barely! Much fractured syntax and functional illiteracy. Buy it if you study regional ufology (Ohio)—you might learn a couple of new things. But the overall impression here is that a true—and horrifying—dark age is rapidly settling over humanity now. In another 25 years hardly anyone alive will know how to read or write. $20.95.
22. Harpur, Patrick. DAIMONIC REALITY: A FIELD GUIDE TO THE OTHERWORLD. Idyll Arbor, 2003. HC, reissue of 1993 original. "Harpur connects the old-fashioned fairies to the modern occupants of UFOs. He highlights the similarities in sightings of older black dogs, more recent mystery cats, and Yetis, Yowies and Bigfoot. Lights in the sky have existed throughout history; once they were seen as witches, now they are UFOs. The ephemeral materializations of spiritualism's séances have been replaced by tangible crop circles." This book is now going for over $50 on the net—we want to bring this excellent title back at its correct, non-ripoff price--$28.00
23. Honigsbaum, Mark. VALVERDE'S GOLD. FSG, 2004. HC, 1st ed., 348pp. Few treasure tales are more exciting, more realistic-sounding or more excruciating than the story of one (Pedro) Valverde, a former Conquistador who was reputed to have been led to Atahualpa's ransom treasure, which the Ecuadorian chieftain Ruminauhi hid after receiving word of Spanish treachery and the murder of the Inca lord, Atahualpa. The treasure was said to have been hidden in Ecuador's Llanganates, one of the most painfully inhospitable landscapes on Earth. Over the centuries many have been the adventurers and "professionals" who have tried to follow Valverde's "derrotero," or guide, to the treasure, but to the last of them, none have succeeded in more than fleshing out their individual accounts of the tortures—and not a few deaths—they or their companions suffered on the trail. Author Honigsbaum gets obsessed with the story like many another treasure seeker, and finally gets his one chance to mount an expedition into the wilderness. This is his story—but it is also a story which contains a tremendous amount of good, useful information concerning Valverde, the early expeditions, and even the search for Valverde's original derrotero in Seville's Archivo de Indias. Great reading, great history, great storytelling, great suffering. $25.00 . 24. Houran, James. A SEARCH FOR MEANING IN THE RAMEY DOCUMENT FROM THE ROSWELL UFO CASE. FUFOR, 2006. Lg. booklet, 76pp. An overview of the controversy, plus results of analyses by various independent photo experts concerning the viability of the enhanced images so far retrieved. $10.00
25. Joseph, Frank. THE ATLANTIS ENCYCLOPEDIA. New Page, 2005. Trade softbound, quarto, 311pp, 2 color photo sections, basic bibliog. Seemingly hit-or-miss collection of references and definitions relating to Atlantean research, culled from archaeology, folklore, mythology and history. It is short on some of the more recent trends in Atlantology (no mention of Cuban or Cretan discoveries, and referencing only older Bimini Road research while omitting all mention of Dr. Greg Little and his work there—to name just a few glaring omissions). A work such as this really needs to be expanded into perhaps 3 or even 6 volumes to be effective, and so, while this is the first Atlantis Encyclopedia, it should easily be surpassed by the second. Too bad, for in more focused hands it could have been a fascinating and important reference work. $19.95
26. Kennedy, Gerry, and Churchill, R. THE VOYNICH MANUSCRIPT: AN EXTRAORDINARY BOOK WHICH HAS DEFIED INTERPRETATION FOR CENTURIES. Trade softbound. Finally made it to our shelves as a softbound. We will ship back orders and will fill new orders at $14.00 while stock lasts.
27. Kephas, Aeolus. THE LUCID VIEW: INVESTIGATIONS INTO OCCULTISM, UFOLOGY AND PARANOID AWARENESS. AUP, 2004. Trade softbound, 212pp, numerous photos. The subject of paranoia as an operative element in everyday society is admittedly an uncomfortable one to grapple with directly. And yet, someone's gotta do it, both at the creative level and at the interpretive level (author and reader). The author finds paranoia seeping into every crevice and orifice of society, fecundating monsters such as Charles Manson and such analysts as Robert Anton Wilson alike. Paranoia is there because the possibility is there that the universe (or its guiding consciousness) is not sane according to our accepted notions of sane sanity. One of us—either the universe or our human perception of the universe—must be wrong. This is an attempt, and a not obviously insane one at that, to sort it all out and make "sense" of it. $14.95
28. King, David. FINDING ATLANTIS: A TRUE STORY OF GENIUS, MADNESS AND AN EXTRAORDINARY QUEST FOR A LOST WORLD. Harmony, 2005. HC, 309pp, illus., bibliog., index. This is the story of Olof Rudbeck and his theories about Atlantis. Who?? You know—Olof Rudbeck, a Swede who lived at the high-water mark of human civilization, the 17th century, and who published a book in 1679 that almost single-handedly created the fascination which flourishes even today regarding a drowned civilization known as Atlantis, and which Plato had immortalized over 2000 years ago in his Timeas and Critias. Here is Rudbeck's amazing life rediscovered, and his 30-year search for tangible evidence of Atlantis in the far north of Sweden recounted. Excellent reading, $23.00
29. Knight, Christopher, and Butler, Alan. CIVILIZATION ONE: UNCOVERING THE SUPER-SCIENCE OF PREHISTORY. Cygnus, 2005. HC, 272pp. Christopher Knight is well known for his books with Robert Lomas (The Hiram Key and The Book of Hiram), but most noted for Uriel's Machine, an excellent body of deductive reasoning into the real function of Stonehenge (a teaching aid for astronomical students) as well as a likely solution to the meaning of the strange passages in the Book of Enoch. In CIVILIZATION ONE, Knight and Butler focus on the unit of measurement known as the "Megalithic Yard"—precisely 82.966656 cm.—which was used to construct thousands of structures in Britain at a time pre-dating the world's oldest organized cultures. It was part of a general scientific knowledge which exceeds ours of today, and which might have been lost to the world forever had not scientists finally recognized its super-advanced implications. The authors show us how other units of measurement, employed by different peoples and seemingly unrelated to the megalithic yard, can be proven to have incredibly close relationships to it. In the final analysis, the level of understanding of the Earth's circumference is so pervasive throughout ancient civilizations, and so far exceeds "coincidence," that only one hypothesis can account for it: that it was imparted to early civilized man by "Civilization One," an advanced group of beings who had arrived from offworld in the remote past. When you are brought to the conclusion that only one hypothesis accounts for an apparent enigma, you go with it. $24.95
30. Leviton, Richard. SIGNS ON THE EARTH: DECIPHERING THE MESSAGE OF VIRGIN MARY APPARITIONS, UFOS ENCOUNTERS, AND CROP CIRCLES. Trade softbound. Those 3 phenomena—UFOs, crop circles and BVM apparitions—are interconnected, and involve an entire body of messages designed to help humanity understand the danger it is in—and, hopefully, the danger which humanity itself is causing, to itself and to all life on Earth. Unawakened humans (and sub-humans by the billions) are doomed. Only awakened humans will bring their awareness along with themselves when they leave this plane. Awaken thyself, then, if you wish to continue. $15.95
31. Lomas, Robert. TURNING THE HIRAM KEY: MAKING DARKNESS VISIBLE. 2005, Hardcover. Lomas here returns to his original forte—the lost knowledge of Freemasonry (lost even to Freemasons everywhere!)—and addresses the questions arising from the nature of Masonic ritual. Simplistic morality plays, or instructional aids with a much deeper purpose? Mindless rote, or direct teachings from a lost advanced civilization? Questions like that. While some Masons might object to their little secrets being opened to the light of day, there are presumably many others, plus a lot of non-Masons, who will gladly learn the nature of that secret knowledge and adapt it to their own struggle to lead a life committed to Understanding and Advancement of Spirit. $26.95
32. Mandelker, Scott. UNIVERSAL VISION: SOUL EVOLUTION AND THE COSMIC PLAN. UV Way, 2001. Trade softbound, 324pp. A book firmly in the camp of those who believe in a new humanity taking shape within a new consciousness in a new earthly setting. Gee, now all we have to do is somehow make all those evil baddies like politicians, materialists, corporations, militarists, corrupt cultures, and over 6 billion unfit sub-humans go away so that the sappy may inherit the Earth. $18.00
33. Marrs, Jim. INSIDE JOB: UNMASKING THE 9/11 CONSPIRACIES. Origin Pr., 2004. Trade softbound, 216pp. The gist is that "Powerful U.S. officials must have had foreknowledge of the planned attacks, and then acted from inside to: A. Thwart efforts to prevent the 9/11 attacks B. Remove or cover up criminal evidence C. Hamper inquiries into what happened."
Given the obvious and irreversible course of U.S. policy, driven by the apocalyptically obsessed, fundamentalist Christian Imbecile-in-Chief, George W. Bush, and aided incomprehensibly by corporate masters whose sole concern is not the well-being of humanity, but their next quarterly Wall Street earnings reports, what Marrs says here is not all that misguided. Just a few years ago, World War III seemed all but impossible. After all, where were the two incorrigibly opposed sides, or axes, which would make up the warring forces? In just 5 years we have been forced directly to create the spectre of a looming World War III by Bush and the treacherous, slavering ideologues who feed him his life force. We now know who the opponents in World War III will be: The United States and the rest of the world, with the U.S. as the acknowledged aggressor and enemy of mankind. $16.00
34. Marrs, Jim. RULE BY SECRECY: THE HIDDEN HISTORY THAT CONNECTS THE TRILATERAL COMMISSION…AND THE PYRAMIDS. Nibble on this conspiracy-soaked pop-tart. $15.00
35. Merriam, Larry and Christopher. THE SPIRO MOUND: A PHOTO ESSAY. PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE COLLECTION OF DR. ROBERT E. BELL. Merriam Station Bks, 2004. Lg. HC, limited to 2000 copies. Pictorial boards, not issued with jacket. 406pp., on fine paper, with over 150 photos, maps and plans. Oklahoma's Spiro Mound has yielded an immense treasure of ancient Indian artifacts, including points, blades and figures of astonishing workmanship. This book records the 70-year relationship between archaeologist Dr. Robert Bell and the mound, and shows the progress of the various excavations made since the 1930s, along with pictures of various recovered artifacts. A truly wonderful experience for anyone interested in American archaeology—and there are enough images of artifacts to keep you busy comparing them with photos of the sensational "out of place" discoveries being made in the Midwest at places like Burrows Cave and elsewhere. Our copies are autographed by both authors! Everything comes together so nicely here—AND you will receive a little bonus in the form of a reprint booklet titled The Indian Relic Collectors Guide (36pp). Gotta love it, fine bargain at $49.95 36. MUFON, eds. MUFON 2005 INTERNATIONAL UFO SYMPOSIUM PROCEEDINGS. Mufon, 2005. Large softbound. Papers by Richard Dolan Stanton Friedman, Paola Harris, Alan Holt (UFO Propulsion), Roger Leir (new book!!), Edgar Mitchell (astronaut), Scott Ramsey (Aztec), Esen Sekerkarar (Turkish UFOs), Leo Sprinkle and Claude Swanson (Paranormal Evidence). Next best thing to being there, $25.00
37. Nabarz, Payam. MYSTERIES OF MITHRAS: THE PAGAN BELIEF THAT SHAPED THE CHRISTIAN WORLD. Trade softbound. No doubt about it—the whole of Christianity can be summed up in 2 (or 3) words: Sun (Son) Worship. This book deals with the belief system which inspired the Sun of God and became a way of life for so many men-boy priests, who are in turn trusted and believed in by so many millions of humans incapable of thinking for themselves. Get your head on straight about the "Christian" faith, $14.95
38. Redfern, Nick. BODY SNATCHERS IN THE DESERT: THE HORRIBLE TRUTH AT THE HEART OF THE ROSWELL STORY. Paraview Pocket, 2005. Trade softbound, 248pp. Nick Redfern has chased down a post-World War II project that the U.S. had to build a nuclear-powered aircraft. This was based on the Horten brothers' designs from Nazi Germany, which were exported to America as part of "Project Paperclip." A prototype had to be test-flown with human passengers in order to determine what effect, if any, the nuclear propulsion system would have on human organisms. Such secret experimental test flights were being made in New Mexico, using live human guinea pigs (and we already know how the U.S. handled many top-secret research projects such as the radiation dose experiments done at Oak Ridge with unsuspecting Blacks as the subjects), and—you guessed it—one of the aircraft crashed, causing the U.S. to scramble into the desert to retrieve the human subjects as well as the wreckage. It was a worst-case scenario for the U.S. And Voila—one Roswell myth is born. The kicker is that American subjects were not aboard the plane. Japanese "aliens," which were being used in Japan during the war as human guinea pigs and were later imported into the U.S. to be used in our own risky experiments, were the victims of the crash. Their smaller size and various impediments or disfigurements gave rise to the "little creature" descriptions made by witnesses. Yet another shameful episode of U.S. conduct, kept secret because secrecy is easier and preferable to having to trot out the "greater good" rationale in the face of certain public condemnation should the secret be let out of the bag. Well, it's out now—let's see some red faces at the Pentagon. $14.00
39. Schoch, Robert. PYRAMID QUEST: SECRETS OF THE GREAT PYRAMID AND THE DAWN OF CIVILIZATION. Hardcover, 352pp. Another book which carries forward Robert Schoch's research into the parameters of the civilization which existed before civilization as we know it—and which had to exist because the features discovered in familiar cultures such as ancient Egypt all reveal a process of development needing thousands of years; Egyptian civilization didn't just pop up overnight, but had to be based on an advanced earlier society. If you are reading Hancock and Christopher Knight, by all means read Schoch! $28.95
40. Smith, Jerry E., and Piccard, George. SECRETS OF THE HOLY LANCE: THE SPEAR OF DESTINY IN HISTORY & LEGEND. AUP, 2005. Trade softbound, 340pp, photo-illus., bibliog. The trail of the Spear of Longinus is followed from the forge of Tubal-Cain in Old Testament days to its protection today among "The Knights of the Holy Lance." But along the way it has fallen into good and evil hands alike, and no man can say where the line separating fantasy from history may be drawn. That makes the reliability of its whereabouts over thousands of years highly suspect—but what the heck—there must be a whole forest worth of slivers of the "true cross," and a couple of tons of Christ's crucifixion nails, so be glad there is only one Holy Lance to track! $16.95
41. Swords, Dr. Michael D. GRASS ROOTS UFOS: CASE REPORTS FROM THE TIMMERMAN FILES. FUFOR, 2005. Trade softbound, 249pp. Preface by John Timmerman. Illustrations by author, index. It's the kind of UFO book you like the most—all cases, no rehashing! Here are hundreds of previously unreleased UFO sightings and encounters, drawn from the files of UFO and CUFOS patriarch John Timmerman (who did all of the interviews) and presented by another of Ufology's great gentlemen, Mike Swords. There are over 40 different classifications for the experiences ("Cigars and Variations on the Disk Theme," "Really Weird Light"), sketches and charts throughout, and the whole book is presented in a pleasingly informal way—for after all, we're talking jes' plain folks here, the way we all once were about 50 years ago. While you've got this book in your hands, it's not George W. Bush's hideously twisted version of America you struggle in. It's Mike Swords' and John Timmerman's saucer-filled heartland! $19.95
42. Trundle, Robert, PhD. IS E.T. HERE? Ecce Nova, 2005. Trade softbound, 312pp. Index, bibliog., several appendices, photo illus. This is the right book at the right time for Ufology. We are all more or less familiar with basic UFO history, so the book is tilted toward the more important ufological issues of the last 20 years or so—MJ-12, the Mars structures, military projects & moon missions, and organizations within and outside of government which are key players in the UFO debate. However, all of this is surveyed from within the sphere of philosophical inquiry. Seeking truth is forever the goal, and this particular search is never allowed to slip into polemic, but remains always grounded in reason and reasonableness. In the end, it is exactly the remedy Ufology needs at this moment. $22.95
43. Twitchell, David E. GLOBAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE UFO REALITY. Infinity, 2003. Trade softbound, 176pp. A little book perhaps meant for those who need to recharge their UFO belief-batteries, with sections containing quotes from famous personalities, saucers in antiquity, reasons for UFO secrecy outdated, government fear of public reaction to being told of UFO reality, etc. Not going to win the Nobel Prize for saucer literature, but as I said, a little pick-me-up for the flagging spirit. $13.95
44. Webre, Alfred L. EXOPOLITICS: POLITICS, GOVERNMENT, AND LAW IN THE UNIVERSE. Universebooks, 2005. Trade softbound, 133pp. An author and a book which look ahead to the time when Earthlings take their first stumbling steps as members of a larger galactic community—the discovery of which is not far off. That community will have laws and requirements which will supercede our own provincial ones, and humanity as a species should be planning right now for the day in which we make our application for membership in an interstellar society. $19.95
45. White, Bob. UFO HARD EVIDENCE. Galde Press, 2005. Trade softbound, 122pp plus CD-Rom titled THE OBJECT. Photo-illus. The object in question, which fell from a UFO during a close encounter the author had at an undisclosed time (1950s), is kind of a cross between a carrot and a conch shell, and apparently made of aluminum. The book is largely a description of the tests which have been run on the object (and on the author, in the form of polygraph tests, etc.). In the end, it's one of these "maybe it is, and maybe it isn't" sort of things—but if we don't check out each one as it comes along, we will never recognize when the real thing is found. $14.95
46. Wood, Ryan and Robert, eds. UFO CRASH RETRIEVAL PROCEEDINGS. NOVEMBER 14-16, 2003, LAS VEGAS NV. Wood & Wood Enterprises, 2003. Lg. softbound, 231pp. Research papers presented at the first Crash Retrieval Conference, including Ryan Wood on the Cape Girardeauk, MO crash of 1941; Art Campbell on the San Augustin crash; Stan Gordon on Kecksburg, Nick Redfern on British UFO crash cases; Peter Robbins on the strange Forrestal death; Linda Howe on metal specimens; Stanton Friedman on new attacks against MJ-12; Greg Bishop on Project Beta; Ryan Wood on evidence from National Archives; Robert Wood on authenticating the "Operations Manual"; and Grant Cameron on Presidents and UFOs. 68. Collins, Robert M., and Doty, Richard. EXEMPT FROM DISCLOSURE: THE DISTURBING CASE ABOUT THE UFO COVER-UP. Peregrine Communications, 2005. Trade softbound, 192pp. I said in my June list what needed to be said about this re-hash of the rumors surrounding Richard Doty, MJ-12 and other rogues galleries allegedly tasked with solving the UFO problem, The Aviary and the Dulce NM underground alien research lab. Now it is time for the UFO community itself—the toughest bunch of critics there is in the whole world—to step in and give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. I'm sure there will be much to say about it, especially in light of the new Nick Redfern book about Roswell—Roswell being the whole basis for all of these crash retrieval and top secret panel rumors in the first place!! $22.95

Same for Williamson, a troubled but important figure in the early days. Van Tassel & King are among those who gave Ufology a pretty bad name, admittedly, but they too have their place in the pantheon. $25.00

89. Gardner, Laurence. THE MAGDALENE LEGACY. Element, 2005. HC, Hardbound, 1st printing, 395pp, bibliog, index, photo section. The poor Church fathers just couldn't bring themselves to allow the horrible thought into their feminophobic heads that Christ the biological male, God notwithstanding, would naturally desire a biological female for companionship and more. A conspiracy of churchmen (and misogynists) had to form in order to ensure that the ghastly secret life of Christ and the Magdalene would remain secret. Until now. $27.95
90. Gardner, Laurence. LOST SECRETS OF THE SACRED ARK. Element, 2004. Trade softbound, approx. 383pp. Nicholas DeVere collaborated with the author on this book—which may account for many of the bizarre statements made about the Ark, the Grail, Templars and bloodlines. Now in softbound, $18.95
91. Goble, Edwin G., and May, Wayne N. THIS LAND: ZARAHEMLA AND THE NEPHITE NATION. Anc. Am. Archaeology Fdn., 2003. Trade softbound, 217pp, photo-illus. One need not be a Mormon interested in this debate to enjoy this book, for it contains plenty of fascinating material on the Hopewell Culture and on the Michigan Tablets, a mystery unto itself which is attracting much scholarly attention these days. There is also much on the odd, obviously non-Indian artifacts unearthed through the centuries in the Midwestern mounds. $21.95
92. Golightly, Adam. THE PRANKSTER AND THE CONSPIRACY. Paraview, 2004. Trade softbound, 292pp. As the Avatar of Discord, Kerry Thornley interacted with Lee Harvey Oswald and Robert Anton Wilson, inspired the "Illuminatus Trilogy" and "gave his anarchic support to the Bavarian Illuminati, a brilliant prank." It may have been a hilarious life, as the author says, but it was also a tragic one—showing, perhaps, that one messes around with Earthmen's "minds" at one's own peril. $16.95

Trade softbound, 208pp. The last time I saw this book, maybe 12 years ago, it was a self-published item of about 100 pages, and I couldn't get enough of them. It's finally found a real publisher and is ready for your order! Its theme is the "Thunderbird," a huge flying thing with a 20-foot wingspan, which has, perhaps, astonished and terrified remote areas of our continent for as long as the legends of it have survived. $15.95
94. Hancock, Graham, and Bauval, Robert. TALISMAN: GNOSTICS, FREEMASONS, REVOLUTIONARIES AND THE 2000-YEAR-OLD CONSPIRACY AT WORK IN THE WORLD TODAY. Element, 2004. HC, 562pp. Notes, bibliog., index, photos. The theme for this book dates back to the days when Hancock & Bauval were doing The Message of the Sphinx together. While leaving it out of that book, the theme has proved so important to both authors that they have resurrected it as a freestanding book here. I would suggest that even in 562 pages they are only scratching the surface of the real conspiracy which involves every human ever born. $28.95
95. Humphries, Christopher. UFOS, PSI AND SPIRITUAL EVOLUTION. AUP, 2005. Trade softbound, 274pp. This book points out that the beginning of the UFO age, in 1947, so soon after the first A-Bomb was used, suggests that there are beings out there who have the ability to jump "hundreds of light years in an instant." They do this by "teleportation," which is a "power of the mind." The same can be said of Levitation, another feat that ETs routinely perform. Therefore, "if we want to go to the stars, it is the mind and the spirit we must study, and not technology." We must, in the end, grow up if we wish to partake of all that the universe offers. $16.95
